It is widely known that we are in a current crisis of childhood obesity. There is good news though, and that is kids are making healthier food choices than in the past, but there are still issues. Their diet is still not considered healthy. There is a long way to go when it comes to kids diet.
- Kids in the US are eating healthier today than they were 1999
- In both 1999 and now, kids Healthy Eating Indices were still “poor”
- Kids sugar and sodium intake have been declining, and fresh fruit and whole grain consumption is improving
